Walland Elementary Adopt-A-School Project
Walland Elementary
is the Rotary Club of Maryville Adopt-a-School Project again this
year. Club volunteers are already hard at work on some of the
projects. These projects include school landscaping and playground
safety improvements, support of the school's Excel Math Program,
Christmas gifts and party for
underprivileged students, and support of a clothing and school
supplies closet for the underprivileged.

Maryville
Rotary Club President President Dave Straquadine and club members
Karen Wentz and Carol LaRue present a $600 check to Adopt-A-School
Partner Walland Elementary for Excel Math Program workbooks.
The
Rotary Club of Maryville was selected for a Rotary District 6780
simplified grant for the Walland Excel Math program. The
program will help third graders achieve higher TCAP scores.

The picture above was possible thanks to Karen Wentz, Carol LaRue, Rose Mary McCall, Dana West, Dave
Straquadine, Tom Eustis, Bob Lash, Ron Appuhn, and Walter Cole who
worked hard to spread a huge mound
of mulch on the school's playground.
